About us
Embrace Risk, Own the Adventure
BASE jumping is a wild ride, but acknowledging the danger is the key to making it safer. At LMSD, we take our “stupid decisions” seriously—so we can have the most fun possible, together.
Our mission
At LMSD, we wholeheartedly embrace the reality that BASE jumping is a “stupid decision”—and we’re cool with that. We believe that acknowledging the risk is the first step towards doing everything we can to make our jumps as safe as humanly possible. We aren’t here to follow the status quo or pretend that hurling ourselves off of towering objects with a parachute is “normal.” Instead, we lean into the thrill and the absurdity, and share our passion with anyone who feels the same.
We’re a club and a nonprofit, which means none of us are in this to make money from teaching BASE. We’ve all got day jobs, and any funds we raise go right back into buying gear for the club, putting on events, and supporting our members’ progression. Our big goal is simply to get more people out jumping, and to have a blast doing it.
Egos? Not here. In LMSD, we’re all about collaboration, camaraderie, and the unspoken agreement that fun comes first. The club decides its own direction. If you’ve got a solid idea for a new event, a group jump, or a brilliant bit of gear investment, we’re all ears. When we say “Let’s Make Stupid Decisions,” we mean it in the spirit of truly living life on our terms—together, safely, and with a healthy respect for just how ridiculous and awesome this sport can be. Jump on in; we’d love to have you along for the ride.
